Headless CMS - WebHook and API Gateway
An API gateway is a central entry point for accessing a collection of APIs. It provides an interface for client applications to obtain data from various servers and services. The gateway performs various tasks such as routing requests to the corresponding APIs, caching data and implementing security measures.WebHooks, on the other hand, are a type of notification that makes it possible to receive events from a server without having to constantly send a query to the server. When an event occurs, the server sends an HTTP request to the previously defined URL to inform the client of the event. The WebHook can be used by various services, for example to react to changes in data in real time.
In practice, WebHooks and API gateways often work together to support complex applications and workflows. The API Gateway can act as a central entry point for accessing various APIs and WebHooks can be used to inform the client about certain events in real time. The combination of WebHooks and API Gateways allows developers to create flexible and powerful applications that are tailored to the needs of the user.
